Pool Pump Leaking Water From Backwash Hose

The pool pump is sucking in air.
Pool pump leaking water from backwash hose. Clean out any debris that may be in the valve housing or on the spider gasket. I read your response to others with this same problem. The multiport valve is important because it helps to control the flow of your pool water. To operate properly pool pumps must be air tight.
If that does not solve the problem you ll want to check where the pipe enters the pump the. The first thing you ll want to check is the pump lid. Another common source of a leak is the backwash hose. Now if you have an inground swimming pool and do not have any water leaking out of the waste port then it again is not likely to be the valve.
A cracked standpipe wouldn t cause the water to leak from the backwash line. Could be a crack in it in the line just below it under the deck or maybe even erosion on the pool finish where it meets the skimmer. If not on properly the pump will suck in air and the pump will not be able to prime. As a result a lot can go wrong.
Check the in and out ports on the valve as well as the area around the cover. I keep going to online diagrams of my sand filter and i see an o ring under the valve but no spider ring. Try removing the six screws at the top of the valve and removing the top assembly with pump off. The pump shouldn t impact that either unless the hp was too high for the filter.
Check the end of the backwash hose for any water running when it shouldn t be.
